When a friend told me a few years ago that Metric puts on one hell of a live show, at first I didnt believe them. But when the Toronto-based band toured the States two years ago, in support of their stellar LP Live It Out, I witnessed firsthand just why my friend was so enthusiastic about the band. Metric was the real deal, packing their set with unparalleled energy that whipped the crowd into a sweaty, dancing frenzy. Assertive frontwoman Emily Haines melodically carries herself all over the stage and on the mic, while the bands dynamic backbone kicks and shifts into high gear with a mix of standard instruments and keyboards. Trust me: seeing is believing.
