John Spalding, a much-loved local musician who recently lost a long battle with cancer, composed a full-length album before he passed on called The Beautiful Truth. And unless you’ve been out of town or living in a cave, you might’ve noticed the glut of benefit shows headlined by big deal bands from Minus the Bear, to MxPx, to the Cave Singers to help raise money, not only to offset the lingering medical bills that continue to burden John Spalding’s family, but also to help fund the release of The Beautiful Truth. Now, the album is complete, and this listening party will be the first time we laypeople can hear it. 10% of all food and drink sales from the evening will be donated to John Spalding’s family.
