Though every other bar in town is hosting an election party of some kind, I’m casting my vote for this one, because the last thing I want to do, after suffering through all this suspense, is sit at a bar, drinking and staring at the TV all night, biting my nails and getting way drunker than is healthy on a Tuesday night because I have nothing better to do. No, I’m looking for a distraction. A place that will allow me to, while keeping tabs on the election, not be so consumed by the suspense that I wind up tearing my hair out or passing out drunk on the bar before I even get the satisfaction of finally, finally knowing WHO WON, DAMMIT. And what better way to distract oneself than to pretend you’re not even in the US at all, but are instead in a Berlin club, dancing to German techno band Jeans Team?

Plus, for all you traditionalists, Nectar’s got the big-screen TV action you’re looking for, election updates, Obama/McCain dartboards (I’m going to go out on a limb here and venture that McCain’s likeness is gonna be much worse for the wear by the end of the night than Obama’s), and drink specials…that is, with proof you voted. Hey, if that’s what it takes to get you in the booth, so be it!
