Honky Tonk

Thought ratted hair, sleeveless men’s Ts, jeans tucked into boots, and mustaches you could steer a bike with were phenomena you’d have to go to Auburn to see? Think again! Honky Tonk is the improv brainchild of Unexpected Productions’ Tim Tracey, who warns you to “moisten your ears for the cussin’” as UP’s cool, collected troupe members transform three audience suggestions into an hour of likeable and occasionally witty melodramedy. Veering from barroom to bedroom and back, we follow seven rodeo-flunky-misfits through hope, heartache, vengeance, and VD, with periodic outbursts of crooning to the melodious noodlings of a live piano/fiddle duo.
