“Thank you for writing to Every Day With Rachael Ray. This has been such an exciting time for us. As you can imagine, though, it’s also an unbelievably busy time. . . . We just know you’ll understand that Rachael and the staff can’t get back to everyone personally. . . . “

Rach does, however, have time to sign her new book, 2,4,6,8: Great Meals for Couples or Crowds, if you follow the rules. No. 1: To get a ticketto stand in line, you must have a copy of the book ($19.95 at the University Book Store). No. 2: 250 tickets will be available. No. 3: There will be no limit to the number of books signed per customer. She will personalize 2, 4, 6, 8, but backlist titles will be signature only (just books published by Clarkson Potter).

But just who is this Rachael? We sent her some “getting to know you” questions, but she’s way too busy. So we found some of “Rachael’s Answers” on her Web site (www.rachaelraymag.com).

Seattle Weekly: It seems you exploded onto the scene, with cookbooks, magazines, TV, T-shirts. Does it feel like “overnight” success? RR: “Am I a star?”

What can people expect at your book signing? “Laugh and move along.”

What is your best advice for anyone who comes home after work and errands and needs to cook dinner? “Good luck and happy eating!”

On your Christmas CD, why did you choose Sinatra singing “White Christmas” instead of Crosby? “I cry, too.”
