Her portrayal of pre-teens is so flawlessly realistic that it serves as a soothing reminder to readers that theyre not alone in their suffering. Most of Blumes work was published in the 70s and 80s, but the issues she tackledpuberty, teen sexuality, parental divorceremain relevant.
