Bury the drums, make the vocals incomprehensible and/or third-grade simpleso it goes with loud-ass dreampop, but this Beggars Banquet band doesnt follow that formula to a perfect T on their new Hideout. The album may not be quite as good as last years self-titled debut, but every death-disco drumbeat, hollow guitar wail, and obtusely romantic lyric comes through loud and clear and almost visually, glimmering like sequins in a pitch-black room.
