Wanna know whats up with the Center on Contemporary Art? The 26th annual Seafair Ball is the ticket, with a round-up of art curated by Rachelle Taylor and including from work Cathy Woo, Richard Hutter, Richard Kehl, Marita Dingus, Juan Alonso, Juan Carlos Castellanos, and Laura Castellanos. Alan Fulles new painting Time and Space, a grid pulsating with infinite color combinations, is a highlight, as are Gallery 110 artist Chris Buenings mixed-media works. His intricate paintings reveal exaggerated, subtly sexual human and nature forms among a swirl of acrylics, spray paint, and correction fluid. In addition to the visual art, there are henna tattoo artists, tarot card readings, Butoh dancer Sheri Brown, and a host of DJs. Scott Cossu and the Side Project keep things chill, while Dig-Dug, Wesley Holmes, and Red Pony (whose live set is earning rave reviews) keep it danceable. Take it all in while you take it all off, apparentlythis soiree is radically advertised as being not only Black Tie and Masquerade but Clothing Optional. Artist reception at 5 p.m., ball at 9 p.m.
