While the idea of mixed-genre lineups is nothing new in Seattle, in the past the execution and group selection hasnt always been successful. However the Seattle-based trio Cancer Rising have done it right tonight with Jive Turkey Extreme, the release show for Search for the Cure. With no guests on the new album (except for contributing production work from Mr. Hill and djblesOne), Judas, Gatsby, and TilesOne have rallied some serious talent to share their stage: rap quartet Dyme Def and heavy-buzzing rock bands the Girls and the Valley. Were fans of everybody on the bill, and we wanted to have something that was exciting to us, not your everyday show, notes Gatsby. One things for sure, the content at Jive Turkey Extreme will definitely be 206Proof-certified by the Committee. With the Girls, Dyme Def, and the Valley.
