“Hand in Glove”? Oh—“Hoveringlove!” That’s the name of Betty Bastai’s exhibit at Shoreline Community College’s gallery, where love letters written by students, staff, and visitors have been folded into origami doves and hung from the ceiling. Forgive me if my mind was on the Smiths, but it’s been that kind of February. The beauty of Stephen Morrissey’s lyrics is that you can sing them with glee when you’re in love or with cynicism when you’re annoyed by lovers, and they’re satisfying either way. From the king of melodrama to me to you, some lyrics to hum as you walk through Shoreline’s halls: “Hand in glove/The sun shines out of our behinds/No, it’s not like any other love/This one is different—because it’s us.” Shoreline Community College Gallery, 16101 Greenwood Ave. N., Shoreline, 546-4101.
