Have ska will travel could be a working motto for a lot of bands these days, but not Bedouin Soundclash. Sure, the Canadian dub-ska trio has managed to land slots on tours with Warped, Ben Harper and, most recently, No Doubt. But, unlike so many latter-day ska groups, Bedouin Soundclash puts its music where its mouth is — which is to say the band lays down thick ska grooves and textures that are as fresh as they are convincing. The band — which for the most part consists of guitar, bass, and drums and often features special guests including seasoned reggae singer Vernon Buckley of the Maytones — executes with the formidable and precision of veterans in just about every department. Grooves, tones, songs, etc. all come together to cast a kind of musical spell over the given venue where the band sets up shop for the night. And they make it look easy. And genuine. With Root Beer. All ages.
