This has been one amazing summer for big name punk bands in Seattle. Flogging Molly, Pennywise and The Offspring have all made stops here in the past few months, and now, Bad Religion’s appearance will round out the summer in a perfect culmination of rawk. Discovering them as a young teen raised Catholic was cataclysmic, as listening to Bad Religion ushered in a period of newfound open-mindedness and angst. Little did I know they’d been around for nearly a decade before I was born and were basically responsible for saving the SoCal punk rock scene. Expect tons of driving guitar and socially responsible lyrics culled from 14 albums’ worth of songs. And if we’re really lucky, they’ll go unplugged and play a few of the acoustic tracks from New Maps of Hell.
