Porkchop & Co. officially opened its doors last week in Ballard. Their menu looks damn tasty, with a grits-and-roasted kale breakfast bowl, daily biscuit sandwiches, and plenty of sandwiches for meat lovers and vegetarians, too. Baked goods from pop-up Parchment are also on the list.
Taylor Shellfish’s Lower Queen Anne oyster bar has opened in the Expo Apartments at Republican and WarrTHIS ONEen. The space will be slightly larger than the Melrose Market shop, with 50 seats for slurping fresh oysters and an eventual patio for another 35.
The Fremont restaurant Hunger, at 36th and Fremont, has closed after four years in business.
Yakima’s Treveri Cellars served its phenomenal sparkling wine at the U.S. State Department dinner last week. This marks the third time Treveri has been so honored—especially impressive considering the winery has been in business only three years and change. E
