As archaic as it may seem, driving with no pants on is apparently still a crime.

According to the Kitsap Sun, a man from Bremerton learned this lesson the hard way earlier this week. Under the headline “Man claims chafing kept him from wearing pants while driving,” the Sun reports that a 24-year-old suspected was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure Wednesday after a witness reported seeing him behind the wheel sans pantalones.

Unfortunately, the Sun is behind an impenetrable paywall, but – knowing a good headline when it sees one – KING 5 has picked up the story. The station notes that, “After the ‘manzilian’ or Brazilian hair removal for men, [the suspect] said his jeans irritated his skin so he was driving in his underwear.”

We’ve all been there.

Luckily, former Seattle Weekly Music Editor Chris Kornelis, a noted Bremertonian, is almost surely not the man in question. We’ve got calls out to confirm it.
