Your Daily Dose of Food News, Events and Must-Read Miscellany
Every Tuesday is reason to get your geek game mode on at Capitol Cider where you can find everything from D&D to Settlers of Catan being played. From 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. you can attempt to mentally dominate the more feeble minded while plying them with cider and whatever trash talk accompanies such games. There’s even a ‘Cards Against Humanity Fracas’ to be joined so come one, come all and get your game on.
But wait, there’s more in cider news…as Seattle Cider Company is introducing its newest flavor line with Citrus. The cider falls between dry and semi-sweet which allegedly will inspire IPA drinkers and cider loves to desire more. Citrus hits the shelves on April 14th and it will have a coming out party at Rhein Haus in Capitol Hill that same evening from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There you can enjoy $5 cans of both Citrus and Dry ciders as well as Cold Brew Coffee Brown Ale from sister company Two Beers Brewing Co.
And last but not least, in non-cider related news, Ballard Italian haunt Volterra turns 10. To celebrate the anniversary of the restaurant and its owners wedding, Chef Don Curtiss will be putting together a pair of celebratory meals. On April 15th, diners in Ballard will be treated to a five-course wine paired Tuscan tasting menu featuring Northwest ingredients for $100. On the 16th, the same menu will be offered in the Kirkland location. For reservations use the following links for Ballard and Kirkland.
