SCMF 7/7-Recital: Songs and a violin sonata by Mendelssohn, with pianist Anton Nel and violinist Ida Levin. Concert: Mozart’s Divertimento for string trio in E-flat, Strauss’ Cello Sonata, and Taneyev’s Piano Quartet.
SCMF 7/10-Recital: Dohn᮹i’s Serenade for string trio. Concert: A Mozart piano trio, Nielsen’s Violin Sonata, and Brahms’ Sextet in G.
SCMF 7/12-Recital: Pianist/composer Adam Neiman with original works. Concert: Two Liszt transcriptions for piano trio; the String Quartet No. 1 by Erwin Schulhoff; and Schumann’s Piano Trio in F.
SCMF 7/14-Recital: Pianist Jonathan Biss plays Schoenberg (“Six Little Pieces”), Beethoven, and Mendelssohn. Concert: Khachaturian’s Trio for clarinet, violin, and piano; Brahms’ Piano Trio in C; the Sextet for Strings by Frank Bridge.
SCMF 7/15-A bonus concert, with encore performances of the Khachaturian Clarinet Trio, Erwin Schulhoff’s String Quartet, and Schumann’s Piano Trio.
SCMF 7/17-Recital: David Kim plays Bach’s Violin Sonata in A Minor. Concert: Glinka’s Trio path鴩que for clarinet, cello, and piano; Paul Schoenfield’s rollicking Caf頍usic; and Schubert’s “Death and the Maiden” Quartet.
SCMF 7/19-Recital: Mark Kaplan plays Bach’s Violin Partita in B Minor. Concert: Debussy’s String Quartet, a sextet for clarinet, string quartet, and piano by jazz composer Dick Hyman, and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Trio in D Minor.
SCMF 7/20-A Family Concert with composer Bruce Adolphe (“Urban Scenes”) and the Odeon String Quartet. Hotdogs and lemonade on the lawn at 6, concert at 7. All tickets $7.
SCMF 7/21-Duos for cello and double bass, played by Bion Tsang and Barry Lieberman. Concert: Mendelssohn’s Sextet in D, Ives’ Piano Trio, and Beethoven’s String Quartet in C-Sharp Minor.
SCMF 7/23-A special “Emerging Artist” concert with violinist Shunsuke Sato and pianist Vassilis Varvaresos playing Bach, Prokofiev, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and the mandatory Sarasate finale. $15-$25.
SCMF 7/24-Recital: Wendy Chen plays Janacek’s On an Overgrown Path. Concert: Haydn’s “Gypsy” Piano Trio, Beethoven’s Violin Sonata in C Minor, and Frank Martin’s Piano Quintet.
SCMF 7/26-Recital: Cellist Sarah Carter and pianist Craig Sheppard play Franck’s Sonata in A. Concert: Beethoven’s Piano Trio in E-Flat, the Partita for Violin and Piano by Witold Lutoslawski, and Mendelssohn’s Octet.
SCMF 7/28-Recital: Steven Doane plays Britten’s Suite No. 3 for solo cello. Concert: Faur駳 Piano Quartet in G Minor, Janacek’s Violin Sonata and Dvorak’s Piano Quartet in E-Flat.
SCMF 7/29-The Festival finale moves to Saturday night, with an all-Brahms show: the Violin Sonata in A, the Clarinet Trio, and the Piano Sonata in F Minor.
