1. Bodrum Bistro officially opened in the former Golden Olive space at 1712 N 45th St. in Wallingford. The Turkish-inspired eatery was launched by Sedat Uysal. Born and raised in Turkey, Uysal also operates the venerable Cafe Paloma in Pioneer Square. We couldn’t find a website or Facebook page, but early reports on the food and vibe are overwhelmingly positive.

2.This evening, Blackboard Bistro in West Seattle hosts a five-course benefit dinner for victims of Typhoon Haiyan. All proceeds from the $75 meal organized by Irbille Edibles will be donated to the National Association of Filipino Concerns.

3. MacArthur genius and farmer Will Allen speaks about his autobiography, “The Good Food Revolution” and his new Readers to Eaters children’s title, “Farmer Will Allen and the Growing Table” tomorrow night. The 6:30 to 8:00 pm event at Central Library includes a sustainable food and urban farming info fair.

4. Cupcakes! Glassblowers! Bubbly! This Thursday, Trophy Cupcakes and Glassybaby host a holiday shopping shindig from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Glassybaby’s Madrona studio. Click here for more details.

5. You can now find Joint Effort, the hemp beer from Redhook Brewery and Hilliard’s Beer, in 22 oz bottles across Washington State. “When we initially released Joint Effort on draught, the beer – and the bong-shaped tap handle – created a ton of excitement, so we decided with Hilliard’s that the natural next step was to launch in bottles,” says Redhook Brand Manager Karmen Olson. “Only problem was we couldn’t source a 22 oz bottle shaped like a bong.”
