1. To celebrate its tenth birthday this Monday, January 27th, Matador’s Ballard location is serving cheap-o food and drinks from 5:00 pm to close. And by cheap-o, we mean as many tacos, platters of nachos and margaritas as you can handle for $1 each.

2. Back before Canon and Li’l Woody’s, Seattle was home to a whole other set of popular watering holes and restaurants. The Seattle PI tells features the venerable Dog House, an all-night diner that ended a nearly 60-year run on Seventh Ave. and Bell St. back in 1994. 3. CHS reports on two dozen bars and restaurants to look forward to this year, including a slew of openings in and around the hood.

4. Slough Food up in Edison hosts its next Oyster Party this Sunday. The 11:00 am to 4:00 pm event features several shucked-to-order varietals, including Shigokus that can be served raw or grilled with toppings. An outdoor covered patio will be ready with blankets and heaters; no reservations are required.
