Light in the Attic proprietor Matt Sullivan just passed along this extraordinary photo taken last week by Alex Crick. Sayeth Mr. Sullivan: “Inspired by the 1958 jazz photo “A Great Day In Harlem” (above), last weekend a miracle happened in town — over 70 musicians from Seattle’s 60s/70s soul and funk scene showed up at Garfield to be included in the attached photo – no doubt one of the most historically significant photos in the history of Pacific Northwest music. Personally, it was one of the most moving moments of my life. I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d be lucky enough to witness these legendary musicians in one place at one time, and on the steps of Garfield of all places – the high school where many of the musicians attended, along with Seattle luminaries Quincy Jones, Jimi Hendrix, and Bruce Lee. We expected 15 to 20 musicians, so seeing over 70 musicians blew our minds.” A full list of the musicians pictured below is after the jump:Michael MitchellDavid StusserSolomon Harris Jr.Vanessa “Lady Vee” MillerKibibi MonieNorm BellasGeorge GriffinPatrinell “Pat” Staten WrightRudy H.
