Pisces (Feb. 19–March 20)
Fish at the bottom of a frozen pond can still survive a winter. They slow down their bodies and wait it out, so they don’t need to consume as much oxygen or food. Adopt a similar strategy this week. You’ll be getting a bit less of the things you usually need, but please don’t freak. Slow down a little and for now, make do with what you have. Abundance is just around the corner—the trick is not to panic and just to chill until it arrives. Fail to do that, and you could (ironically) keep it from rounding the bend for quite some time.
Aries (March 21–April 19)
No one’s trying to rip you off, even though it may feel that way. Sometimes things just don’t work out; don’t become paranoid, or worse, get up on a self-righteous high horse and talk shit you’ll be embarrassed about later. It’s all too easy for you Rams to end up in confrontations that don’t lead anywhere. You’ve heard the expression “pick your battles,” right? Most of the time it refers to selecting scraps you can probably win; in your case, it means choosing fights that are actually worth fighting in the first place. Take it down a notch; there’s no need for conflict here.
Taurus (April 20–May 20)
The past is the past. While it’s an important part of who you are today, its details aren’t always relevant for other people to know. Who you’ve become is what matters now. The moment aspects of your history threaten to hold you back, you’re free to consider not sharing them (of course, if withholding this information could hurt someone else, you’re obligated to spill the beans). However, if what they don’t know can’t hurt them, but could hurt you if they found out, it might be best to hang onto your blank slate and continue from there.
Gemini (May 21–June 20)
Champion of the Underdog should be the title you strive for this week. You’re in a position to help the honorable dark horse pull out a victory here. Instead of just toeing the line and doing what’s expected of you, step up and do what’s right. That won’t be easy, of course, but it’ll probably feel good, on top of making the world (at least your little slice of it) a better place. If you earn a few enemies in the process, so be it; trust me, you’ll secure more fans than foes by behaving so bravely and honorably.
Cancer (June 21–July 22)
Don’t rely too much on your armor. Even the toughest Crab’s shell can be cracked. Sometimes it’s about dodging bullets instead of taking them in the chest and trusting your emotional Kevlar to absorb the brunt of the damage. You put too much stock in how protected you are by your well-earned battle armor; unfortunately, it still has more chinks than you think. I like that it’s mostly made you brave enough to venture right into the thick of any emotionally complex situation; this week, however, keeping yourself out of harm’s way is the name of the game.
Leo (July 23–Aug. 22)
Singing for your supper is never as easy as simply having it served to you; however, even though Leos feel like royalty, most of you still have to work for a living. However, there are ways and there are ways—even in a depressed economy, there ought to be a way to shift what you do to earn money to stuff that at least partially fulfills or challenges you. It’s important for Leos to find that; unlike other signs, who can find other outlets for their personal fulfillment, you’ll never do well for long at a job you despise. This week, focus at least on finding leads to a job you can get that you wouldn’t hate, even years down the line.
Virgo (Aug. 23–Sept. 22)
I overheard some people discussing astrology, and they all agreed: “Virgos are passive-aggressive.” Now usually when people call someone passive-aggressive, they just intend to say that they’re a pain in the ass, but want to sound smart and less bitchy while doing so. However, I still think this week it should be your mission to shift local perception of Virgos—and that might mean openly and brazenly fighting the good fight where appropriate. Passive or subversive resistance have their places, just not right now—boldly standing up for what you believe is totally the way to go.
Libra (Sept. 23–Oct. 22)
Every relationship requires balance; unfortunately, in working toward this, one of your strengths all too easily becomes a weakness. When exploring a new connection, it’s second nature for you to adapt to fit the situation, so it may seem (to both of you) that it’s a perfect fit. However, this often leaves some of your own desires repressed and unexpressed until much deeper into the relationship—when they might not be welcomed into this heretofore “perfect” scenario. Don’t you think it might be better to remember/discover those desires early on? If they’re ultimately deal-breakers, it’d be better for both of you to figure that out before you get in too deep.
Scorpio (Oct. 23–Nov. 21)
I’ve known many a Scorpio who excelled at spinning creative versions of the truth. By omitting certain details or emphasizing others, you can paint a picture with nary a lie that nevertheless portrays quite a different scenario than what’s actually there. This is a useful skill at times, but employing it can be a very dangerous habit to get into. Know when to tell the brutal truth, leaving nothing out, and when it’s OK to soften things with artistic interpretations of reality. Misjudging which to do this week could lead to some uncomfortable or damaging scenarios, so be careful choosing when to embellish and when to just tell it like it is.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22–Dec. 21)
It’s ironic that you sometimes have so much trouble letting things go, considering how often you encourage (and sometimes require) others to do just that. You’re usually pretty casual about your attachments and intent on just going with the flow; however, when you occasionally decide you really want something (or someone), you grab on with a vise grip and don’t let go no matter what. Of course, that works out about as well for you as it does for most people who stubbornly refuse to acknowledge what’s actually happening. Since you’ve mostly been on the other side of that coin, can’t you flip it now and finally just let go?
Capricorn (Dec. 22–Jan. 19)
You have a quality that’s been described as persistent, stubborn, or intractable, depending on who’s talking. Most of the time it serves you well. However, it can take you places that make you look obsessed or like a stalker. There are times when calling it quits is really the best thing you could do. This, my dear, is probably one of those. Recognize the reality of the situation and just how unfeasible your plan really is. This kind of thing might work in a bad movie, but not in real life. Call the whole thing off and move on already.
Aquarius (Jan. 20–Feb. 18)
You’ve heard the expression “When one door closes, another opens,” right? This is a comfort when one gets slammed in your face. However, there’s another side to that coin: Sometimes a new door won’t open until you close an old one. Waiting for it to swing closed on its own is foolish, and sabotaging things until someone else slams it shut is just cruel. Come to terms with where you’re at, and close that door, as gently as you can. Then be patient and alert—a new one will likely crack open before you have time to get bored.
