Kraken Congee is popping up at Capitol Hill’s Olivar at 806 E. Roy St. this Monday night from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. The menu includes onion pancakes, Chinese doughnuts, and four kinds of insanely delicious rice porridge topped with pork belly, cuttlefish fritters or root veggies. Kraken made its debut at Grub in Queen Anne last April.
In brick-and-mortar restaurant news, Pho Viet Anh is moving into the space formerly occupied by Chilitos Mexican Restaurant at 6510 Roosevelt Way NE. The Vietnamese noodle and banh mi shop also operates a location in Lower Queen Anne. The owners are shooting for a mid-June opening.
Over in South Lake Union, 1Hundred Bistro & Bar opened last week in the space formerly occupied by Citrus at 1001 Fairview Ave. N. Eater reports that the kitchen of 1Hundred’s second location (the first launched in Bellevue last February) is led by private chef turned executive chef Katie Formuzis. Kickin’ Boot Whiskey Kitchen and The Tin Table alum Dan Wunderlich serves as chef de cuisine.
