Ilustration by Andrew Saeger, tHEARTdept.Hey, fellow lushes! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been laser-focused on the beautiful acts of civil disobedience in New York and across the country for the past couple of weeks, glued to #OccupyWallStreet Twitter updates. Power to the people! (And to free wifi!!)While I’m not exactly ready to pitch a tent in Westlake Park, I’ve been doing a lot of searching for the perfect super-cheap-ass wine to help ease the pain of being part of the 99 percent of the country getting screwed by a bunch of rich douchebags, who, no doubt, guzzle Chateau d’Yquem with their cornflakes. An unassuming white from Cavatappi was just the ticket.Read more on the jump! The Stimulus Package is my kind of economic development plan, an interesting blend of sauvignon blanc and pinot gris that was on sale at QFC for $10.Peter Dow started the winery way back when he owned Cafe Juanita, so it’s not surprising its original mission was all Italian. The reds are good, but I’m also a fan of the whites. It didn’t hurt that I served the Stimulus Package with the humble food of the masses, my down-home fried-in-lard chicken. That bright white sure made the bird sing. With hints of honeydew melon and peach, it was soft, but not sweet. Double bonus points for the twist top — making it easy to swig straight from the bottle. The Wino’s giving this one four out of four brown paper bags.Follow Voracious on Twitter and Facebook.
