2. Seattle-based Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery is teaching “How to Brew a Beer” at the Phinney Center this Monday, November 11. 3. Queen Anne boutique charley + may presents a book signing and tasting for “The Cooking Class in Kuala Lumpur” author Karen Tripson from 4:00 to 6:00 pm today. Wine and samples of recipes from the book will be on hand, including shrimp with coconut curry dipping sauce and Rojak salad on a stick.
4. A handful of restaurants around town are throwing parties in honor of Beaujolais Nouveau Day on November 21: Bastille in Ballard will pour the French red wine from 4:30 to 10:00 pm paired with charcuterie selected by chef Jason Stoneburner. Marche at Pike Place Market is bringing in a two-piece band and serving porchetta alongside its Beaujolais tasting station. The party starts at 4:30 and ends when the barrel runs dry.
