1. Eater reports that Fran’s Chocolates is slated to open a factory and cafe in Georgetown on September 29. The build-out “will include an espresso and drinking chocolate bar with cafe seating, a retail shop, tasting room, and a window to watch truffles, Gold Bars, and Obama-approved smoked salt caramels as they’re made.”
2. The International District’s Night Market & Moon Festival takes place this Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight on Union Station Plaza and 5th Ave. South. Food vendors and trucks will keep you fueled up for the outdoor dance party with music from DJ Fish Boogie and C89.5’s DJ Richard J. Dalton.
3. Theo Chocolate has released its fall confections, available for a limited time in the factory store only. They include apple cider caramel, pear balsamic ganache and fig & fennel ganache.
4. Tickets to the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance’s Incredible Feast fundraiser are almost sold out. The October 5 event at Swansons Nursery involves a 20+ course meal from local chefs like Tamara Murphy and Ethan Stowell, plus an auction. The event sells out every year, so get your tickets soon.
