Sorry rest-of-Seattle, Capitol Hill dominates this weekend’s food news:

On Sunday, Cupcake Royale is offering $4 signature sundaes every Sunday for the rest of June. The cupcake shop is also continuing its free scoop of ice cream with any scoop purchase for SIFF-goers. Make sure to bring your ticket stub. But don’t feel left out if you didn’t go this year, you can also get the new Cupcake of the Month — The Gay. Vanilla cupcake sprinkled with rainbow goodness and topped with rich vanilla buttercream. What better way to celebrate summer?

Also something to look forward to this season is the return of the Stockbox Market, which offers fresh produce and affordable meal solutions to urban areas. This is its second store in the Seattle area, which will be located near the Harborview Hospital on 9th and James. This will also be the first major grocery store for the First Hill neighborhood since the closure of M Street Grocery in 2011.

On Monday, Kraken Congee has announced to make their next “pop-up” dinner date at Oliver from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Kraken is one of the newest additions to Seattle’s pop-up scene, which made its debut at Grub in Queen Anne last April. Their menu is split up into three categories (finger food, spoon food and sweet food), which include $3 Chinese doughnuts and four kinds of rice porridge with a topping of your choice.

Don’t feel like hiking up the Hill?

On Saturday, Coyle’s Bakeshop drop in on Fremont’s Book Larder at 4252 Fremont Ave. N from 9 a.m. to noon as part of the director’s one-day-a-month bakery launch. Flaky croissants. Homemade caramels. Sticky toffee pudding. It’s something you can’t miss, but don’t worry if you can’t show up tomorrow. The bakeshop makes an appearance every first Saturday of the month.
