1. Vif (say veef) opens its doors today in North Fremont. Eater reports that the vino and coffee spot is located in the former Herfy’s Burgers space at 4401 Fremont Ave N. On top of serving a curated list of natural wines, the cafe is embracing the multi-roaster trend: Beans come from several roasters, including San Fran-based Wrecking Ball and Four Barrel and Portland-based Coava.
2. In a rare chance for the 21+ crowd to hang out with the penguins and otters sans kids, Woodland Park Zoo presents a tasting flight event in the North Meadow tonight from 6 to 9:00 pm. In addition to live music, tickets include 10 tastings from 30 area wineries, Vita coffee samples and gin cocktails.
3. Since we’re on a wine tangent: Seattle Magazine talked to Le Gourmand alum David Butler about Le Caviste, a quaint wine bar he plans to open downtown this fall. Imported cheese and charcuterie will round out the menu.
