1. Starting tomorrow, Miyabi 45th will be open for lunch. The midday menu focuses on house-made soba, prepared either hot in hot broth, cold in cold broth, or cold with cold or hot dipping sauce, to name a few. Lunch will be served every day except Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with last call for food at 1:45.
2. If you like fries, you probably like latkes. So why not replace sandwich bread with crispy potato pancakes? Set to launch this week, Napkin Friends food truck is doing just that. The mobile eatery is serving latke press sandwiches filled with the likes of five-day brined pastrami and roast chicken, reports Nosh Pit. The truck is scheduled to be parked at Banya 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
3. Dahlia Lounge hosts a five-course cookbook dinner with Gabriel Rucker of Le Pigeon this Sunday, January 12 at 6 p.m. Tickets include wine pairings and a signed copy of the Portland chef’s recent title, Le Pigeon: Cooking at the Dirty Bird.
4. Menchie’s opened a new Redmond location over the weekend. The froyo location was started by a woman who left a career in horseback riding to launch the store. Grand opening goodies will be available at the Redmond shop through January 10, with a few additional new locations to open in the coming months.
