Honoring the cigs smoked by artists who have cut records at Muscle Shoals Studios is the newly formed MUSCLE SHOALS SMOKERS FAN CLUB, put together by Bob Geldof and Putina Sanchez. For info, simply address a card or letter to Bob or Putina c/o general delivery, Hollander, MO 63107. I understand the duo will be issuing a souvenir ashtray honoring Carla Thomas and her chosen smoke early next month, to be followed by a similar deal for soul icon Wilson “Wicked” Pickett, but your card must be postmarked within each month proper for the 2 superstars, as these limited editions will be going like hotcakes. An unsubstantiated rumor has it that Commander—or possibly Lark—will be the smoke of preference of one (or even both) of these all-time greats.

While you’re at it, why not join the club itself: $20 for lifetime membership, $7 for trial affiliation, which you can void anytime (no questions asked) for half your money back. Sounds good to me!
