1. You have a couple of weeks left to fit in a farewell meal at Madison Park Conservatory. The restaurant announced plans to close its doors for the last time on February 15. MPC broke the news over the weekend:
Restaurants are a crazy thing and many stars have to align to create a successful and enduring place. Although, we would have the liked our run to be much longer we are very proud of the past three years and have many fond memories to look back on.
Chef Cormac Mahoney is planning a final Valentine’s Weekend menu for February 14 and 15; book a table for the $75 meal online.
2. Bauhaus opened yesterday in new (temporary) digs at 414 E. Pine St., a block east of its former space. The cafe plans to return to a revamped storefront at its original 301 E. Pine St. location sometime in 2015.
3. In other coffee news, Admiral Bird launched in West Seattle yesterday. According to the West Seattle Blog, the cafe on the corner of California Ave. SW and Admiral Way set up shop in the front portion of florist Flower Lab. In addition to imbibables, you’ll find pastries and light lunch fare. Beans come from Tumwater’s Raven’s Brew.
4. Ballard’s Stoneburner is rolling out a weekly Meatball Monday special starting February 10. From 5:00 to 10:00 pm plates of thin or fat noodles, red sauce and a big meatball are offered for $10 and can be paired with Sangiovese for $5 a glass or $15 a carafe.
