We’ve all experienced our fair share of bullshit teenage melodrama, and it’s something that doesn’t need to be relived, no matter what mistakes were made. So, it comes as a relief to discover that the five long-haired kids in the Lonely H, all of whom graduated from high school last month, don’t show their age in their music. In fact, their latest and second full-length, Hair, displays the Lonely H’s strong sense of musical maturity that just as easily could’ve come from someone who’s twice their age and three times more experienced. Their downright catchy and classic-rock riffing songs are carried by Mark Fredson’s warm vocals and nimble fingers on the piano, and the youthful, optimistic spirit of the band shines like a torch being passed down by their elders. Don’t look back—these guys have a promising future ahead of them.
