Your Favorite Rapper’s Favorite Rapper

As an MC, Candidt has come to be an integral part of the Northwest’s storied Oldominion collective. He put his quirky penmanship on full display with his debut LP, last year’s Sweatsuit & Churchshoes. You might also recognize Candidt for his role as a promoter: He organized the Rendezvous’ long-running monthly showcase The Corner—a show-and-prove that gave untested lyricists the rare opportunity to earn their chops on the same bill as town favorites—which ran strong for two years between 2008 and 2010. Now one-third of rap trio TH3RDZ alongside fellow Oldominion vets JFK and Xperience, Candidt is getting ready to release the group’s debut, This, That & TH3RDZ.

Lil Wayne/Sunday, Sept. 4

Sure, a rush-hour commute to White River is about as fun as knifing yourself in the eye, but it just might be worth it to catch rap’s most enigmatic megastar on display at a semi-outdoor venue.
