If you were to send one American artist to an Adirondack peak to shout the phrase “I am a female folksinger from the Northeastern United States!” and really mean it, that artist would be Dar Williams. She makes music that should send you immediately to your bedroom for a sweater (never silk), and to the kitchen for tea (never tequila).
