Local hip-hop soul outfit Fly Moon Royalty released a bumping, 70s inspired

Local hip-hop soul outfit Fly Moon Royalty released a bumping, 70s inspired funk track today called “Piece of Me” that would make Stevie Wonder proud. The track is the first off the group’s upcoming new EP “Unfinished Business” due out January 14th on Sportn’ Life Records. Those who pre-order tickets to Fly Moon Royalty’s Jan. 3 release show will get a special advance download of the EP.

Pitchfork also debuted a new track from local palindrome pop-punkers, Tacocat. “Bridge to Hawaii,” is a surf song about how rainy and sad it is in Seattle—hence the suggestion that a trans-Pacific highway to Hawaii be built, where true surf action can remedy the Seasonal Affective Disorder the city is suffering from on this incredibly frigid day. The track is the band’s first single from their upcoming Hardly Art LP, NVM, due out February 25.
