On Sunday, November 9th you can be one of the lucky few to experience a Chocolate Cook-off benefitting the Children’s Hospital Uncompensated Care Fund at Ethan Stowell’s Tavolata. Pastry Chef Dionne Himmelfarb hosts the event with 12 Northwest chefs competing including Autumn Martin of Hot Cakes, Roger Martinho of Ba Bar, Nica Falcon from Chocolopolis and Laura Pyles of Parchment. French company Valrhona Chocolate provides the ingredients for the chefs to ply their trade. For $50 you can join in the fun and act like Charlie Bucket for an evening. Just don’t steal the fizzy lifting drink! Reservations can be made by calling 206-838-8008.

If you are a fan of Pyramid Brewing you’ll be happy to know that they have again won the Gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival for their Apricot Ale. It was selected number one out of 65 ‘Fruit Wheat Beers’ in the competition and has been a consistent award winner and best seller since the early 90’s.
