1. Ericka Burke, owner and chef at Volunteer Park Cafe, is keeping busy with two new Capitol Hill spots, reports Seattle Met

. She’ll open Chop Shop Cafe and Bar, which will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Chop Shop Juice and Provisions, which will focus on fresh-pressed juices and takeaway sandwiches and salads. Both will open in the Chophouse Row project in progress at 11th and Pike.

2. Wayne Johnson, the Executive Chef at Ray’s Boathouse, has announced his resignation. Johnson has worked at Ray’s since Feburary 2012 and says he wants to pursue other career opportunities and spend more time with his family. Executive Sous Chef Paul Duncan will now oversee the kitchen as Chef de Cuisine.

3. Cone and Steiner General, which opened in December on Capitol Hill’s 19th Avenue, will have a second location in Pioneer Square’s new Stadium Place. Expect a larger version of the Capitol Hill spot, with takeaway food items, beer and wine, and adorable house wares.

4. Though Seattleites pull their weight at brunch with mimosas, apparently orange juice consumption is on the decline in the U.S. Changing habits and rising prices are partially to blame, says Quartz.
