As a guy who can’t dance, I tend to be envious of those who can. Which means that the performers at the Men in Dance festival should make me positively lizard-green. But when a program includes this many great artists, drawn from practically every dance company in town (and beyond), I’ll make an exception. The program includes Seattle vets like Wade Madsen, John Dixon, and Steve Casteel, along with young Turks including Scott Davis and Daniel Wilkins. Dance modes will range from ballet to tap to improv “dansing” from Christian Swenson and contact improv with Dixon and Davis. Supplying a little estrogen, female choreographers Vicki Lloid, Deborah Wolf, and Dominique Gabella help the performers explore the strength, range, and unexpected delicacy of the male body.
