Get More: JAY Z and Kanye West, Music, More Music Videos
“Otis”, the Otis Redding-sampled track from the dynamic duo’s blockbuster album Watch the Throne, has been a polarizing track due to its relatively simplistic take on the classic Redding song, and its instrumental has been borrowed for more “freestyle” YouTube and mp3 verses than any beat since Lil’ Wayne’s “A Milli“. Nonetheless, “Otis” is pretty damn easy to listen to, and what it lacks in artistic merit it makes up for with the freewheeling fun on display in the above video.
Just seeing these two megastars dig into a luxury sedan with power saws, then do doughnuts through a parking lot decorated with active pyrotechnics with a carload of ladies and big ol’ smiles on their faces makes you want to watch the video a second and third time. It also induced quite a bit of lifestyle envy: Not only would all these antics be a time-and-a-half, but whether you’re Jay or Kanye, you’re able to pull off ridiculous stunts like those with your platinum-selling, world-adored buddy, and get paid for it.
