Some of Seattle’s finest bartenders will compete tonight for a chance to shake their stuff in New Zealand for the 42BELOW Cocktail World Cup, including recipes from representatives of Hazelwood, Liberty, and the Triple Door. Competitors were chosen from recipes submitted that had to employ 42Below vodka. From the looks of the cocktails it’s dessert vs. Classical, with a side of bacon. The winner from Seattle will get a trip to New Zealand to compete in the finals and participate in the finals. This was a last minute release, so I’m not clear on all the details or if there will be freebies, but those samples have to go somewhere. And I will promote any organization that isn’t afraid to use the word “bartender.” Tonight, Sole Repair, 9pm. (1001 E.
