1. Hard Rock Cafe is installing a tap for Fremont Mischiefl’s Worker’s No. 9 vodka, making the restaurant the exclusive carrier of said vodka. They’re hosting a free (21 and over) party on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. to celebrate the installment. KISW Radio will co-host, and Hard Rock will offer drink tastings, specials, complimentary appetizers, and ticket giveaways to upcoming summer concerts.
2. Mezcal fans can learn more about the liquor at two Mezcaleria Oaxaca classes today at 1 and 5 p.m. Mezcal master distiller Alberto Morales will be on hand to showcase Wahaka Mezcal’s certified organic mezcales. Similar events take place at 1 and 5 p.m. on June 4, with Dylan Sloan from Mezcal Vago. The classes are complimentary but spots must be reserved by emailing mezcaleriaoaxaca@gmail.com. All classes are held at the Capitol Hill location.
3. Ethan Stowell Restaurants now has a booth at the Wallingford Farmers Market, held each Wednesday. Every week, a chef from an Ethan Stowell restaurant will be on hand, selling seasonal noshes using local produce available at the market. Check Facebook for updates on next week’s chef.
4. Your drink of choice looks pretty cool under a microscope. Biochemist Michael Davidson has produced a fascinating collection of photos showing crystallized drinks like Sake and Champagne.
