McKagan Makes the Rock Hall

The SW columnist will be inducted with his former GN'R bandmates.

Seattle Weekly columnist Duff McKagan learned last week that he’s headed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Guns N’ Roses, the band he co-founded with Slash, Axl Rose, and company in Los Angeles in the 1980s. This year was the first GN’R was eligible for induction. The band will be joined in the Class of 2012 by the Beastie Boys and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others. Congrats, Duff!

In related news: McKagan and his band, Loaded, will open for Guns N’ Roses at KeyArena on Friday and at Vancouver’s Pacific Coliseum on Saturday. This will be the first time that McKagan, who left GN’R in 1997, has opened for its current incarnation, which is fronted by Axl Rose, the sole remaining member of the band’s classic lineup. Tickets for Friday’s show are available ($26.50–$72) via Ticketmaster.
