If you’re so into the Beatles you’d attend a cover show, I guess we already know your answer to the Beatles vs. Stones question (and oops, my apologies haughty rock snots, the Kinks). Few topics can set music blogs abuzz with comments and spark the kind of ire usually reserved for an accurate dis on your mama like that particular discussion can. I’m a Stones girl myself. But I don’t hate the Beatles. In fact, I like them lots and lots. I share a birthday with John Lennon and some of my fondest childhood memories are set to the Magical Mystery Tour. It’s just that, to me, they’ve always seemed to make music for positive, well-adjusted virgins (which is probably why so many kids love the Beatles). The Stones make music for disaffected sluts. There may be two or three Beatles tracks you can get it on to, but there are only two or three Stones tracks you can’t, which, for my taste anyway, makes them the better rock ‘n roll band.
