Matt’s in the Market is now using the new iPad as its primary reservation book. Wine director Chris Lara says not only is the new iPad sleek, functional, and cool, but “most importantly, it replaces the bulky paper system we were used to. Now at a glance, we’re able to book tables months out instead of day-of.”The iPad not only acts as a clipboard for easy maneuvering, it allows staff to see the actual seating layout of the restaurant, signaling when diners are getting ready to leave so new parties can be booked. Matt’s is also one of the growing restaurants to use Urbanspoon rez, which, like Open Table, lets restaurants track customers, allowing easy access to ordering history, birthdays, and anniversaries.
