Dude York Have The Most Cramped House Show Ever in New Video”Cannibal” is the undisputed party banger on Dude York’s recent Help Yourself Records LP, Dehumanize. In the band’s new video for the song (which debuted over at Rolling Stone, ooh la la!), the trio crams into a tiny apartment and plays the song in a variety of highly awkward positions and situations. Click the lick to watch the video, and see if you can spot the Big Mario’s pizza box. The pizza itself is easy to find (Hint: It’s on the bong).
Shaprece Teams Up With IG88 For Two Beautiful New Tracks
Nobody sounds like Shaprece in Seattle right now. The local R&B songstress’ two new songs (created in collaboration with Star Wars referencing electro-producer IG88) sounds like what the elves in Rivendell might listen to at the club. Gorgeous chopped up vocals float around in the air chanting what sounds like magical spells while string arrangements from Phillip Peterson (A$AP Rocky/Florence + The Machine, P!NK) buoy aqeuous, ambient backing tracks—perfect for a dreamy, rainy day. Fans of Purity Ring and AlunaGeorge will dig the hell out of Shaprece, whose debut album should be out sometime this Summer. Raz Simone Drops His Emotionally Hefty New Album at NPR
“It’s 3 a.m. and these are what feelings sound like,” local rapper Raz Simone says at the open of his new album Cognitive Dissonance. He’s not putting you on—the album is an open-hearted confessional, punctuated by somber spoken word interludes set to the sound of rainfall that makes for an eerily personal listening experience. Thee Samedi Preach in New “TV Evangelist” Video
Bellevue’s finest punk fire-starters, Thee Samedi, just finished playing Sound Off’s final competition round, coming in 4th place but winning the Audience Choice Award. Win or lose, the band knows how to make wonderfully grating noises while writhing around, which are really the only two key ingredients to making a great band. Thee Samedi is set to release its Lost Faith 7″ on April 26th at Heartland, but check out the music video for the band’s really loud new single “TV Evangelist” above. Warning: You may get whiplash or bleed all over yourself while wathcing it.</
