1. While the folks at Kedai Makan jet over to Malaysia for some R&R later this month, German pop-up Dackel will take over the kitchen. From Jan 16-19 and Jan 23-26, chef Josh Nebe (who also cooks at Radiator Whiskey) will prepare sausages, “The Kurry wurst” stuffed in milk buns topped with red curry, and more German-inspired deliciousness. 2. Local chainlet Tutta Bella launched its fifth restaurant at Bellevue’s Crossroads. The pizza spot’s latest location is its largest to date and features some new menu items and cocktails. Lunch starts up in about a month.
3. Ballard-based Reuben’s Brews will distribute bottles of three seasonal beers to Western Washington grocery stores and bottle shops every three months throughout 2014. My Ballard lists the full lineup, which includes Imperial Oatmeal Stout in spring, Cream Ale in summer, Red in fall, and Roasted Rye in winter.
4. Downtown’s Sazerac is one of a slew of area eateries and bars offering specials for the Seahawks game this Saturday. In addition to drinks like the ‘12th Man-Hattan’ game day eats will be served, including the 12th Man Deal: For $12 you’ll get a draft beer, an oversized “football player worthy” muffuletta sandwich and sweet potato fries.
