A real organization (read: cult) in London during the late ’60s and early ’70s, The Process Church of the Final Judgment made curious visitors of Marianne Faithful and Mick Jagger. George Clinton even alluded to it on two Funkadelic albums; or at least that’s the story related in the book Love Sex Fear Death: The Inside Story of The Process Church by English writer Timothy Wyllie (published by Port Townsand imprint Feral House). The group was a subject of much tabloid speculation during that past era of Charles Manson and alternative religions. Tonight, a Process-style sabbath will be conducted, accompanied by music (including performers Jex Thoth, Sophie Gonthier, Anders Nilsson, and David Christian), a short documentary, and remarks by Feral House editor Adam Parfrey.
