Most straight girls I know think Rufus Wainwright is super fucking hot. The son-of-Loudon’s aphrodisiacal allure extends to men as well—and not just to the ‘mos. As one local (and straight) musician who’s spent an evening in Rufus’ company once told me: “Rufus is enough to make you think twice.” Must be the voice: While nasal in conversation, in concert it manifests itself in about the perfect melange of pop and operatic grandeur, casting a spell over all who witness it.
