Emily Kane, meet your new best Hoodrat Friend. Aside from the obvious fact that pairing up two charismatic bands renowned for their joyous and literate take on rock ’n’ roll is damn smart marketing, the real fruit of this union would be a documentary. Oh, to be a fly on those dressing-room walls night after debauched night. The pace of the dialogue between hyperintellectual Hold Steady leader Craig Finn and Art Brut’s self-referential savant Eddie Argos could probably melt a speedometer, and the collective creative energy of such a talented and hilarious bunch is undoubtedly fueling late-night jam sessions on par with Festival Express. Listen to a sample of Art Brut's "Direct Hit."
